The following email is being distributed to my addresss book.

Recently, the front walkway to my home was resurfaced by a company called Ultimate Concrete Resurfacing, INC (Naples, Fl). The authorized dealer was Pioneer Lawn and Landscaping (Manalapan, NJ). The product is suppose to be “twice as strong as ordinary concrete, brick pavers and stamped concrete,” and ” all work is 100% guaranteed,” as stated in their brochure. The application was laid down in July, and by August, hairline cracks started to appear. The cost for this service was $1500.00. To date, I contacted Pioneer Lawn & Landscaping in August, after discovering the cracks, twice in September and twice in October, to no satisfaction of having the job done over, or by receiving a refund. They will fill in the cracks, however, I must sign a waiver because colors may not match.

After submitting a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, my next step will be to contact my lawyer. This email is intended to notify anyone that may be interested in this product and service, to become aware of the problems that I have encountered thus far, and to avoid using the following dealer and product. If you feel others should be made aware of this poor quality product and service, I am asking that each of you forward this email to as many individuals as possible.

    Thank you for your help,

    Patricia E. Gwozdz

We had requested to have an estimate to resurface our garage floor by Ultimate Concrete of Akron, Ohio in March. When we did not hear from the company by April, we called again. An estimate was provided in May. He couldn’t begin the job until June. I took off of work to be home for the work to begin on 2 separate days in July, nobody showed up. Work began in August and took 2 months to complete while everything in my garage sat outside. Phone calls were not returned or answered.
When the final job was finally completed, the finish had different colors due to the final coat being applied on different days, some of the surface was bubbled, other parts are still sticky. Calls to the contractor continue to be unanswered. Definitely avoid this contractor and product.

In reference to Patricia Gwordz comments about the Ultimate Concrete Dealer of Oct. 4, 2004. I am an Ultimate Concrete Dealer in Texas. As such, I let everyone know that the surface may crack due to shifts in the earth as does regular concrete. Your new Ultimate Surface is not a cure for cracks in the original surface. If mother earth moves, concrete walks, drives and even foundations will crack. If anyone has a cure to avoid such cracks they would be very wealthy people.

We had Ultimate Concrete resurface 2 concrete slabs in our house. Within 6 months one had started to discolor and both developed small cracks. Even though there is a warranty, Ultimate Concrete has not done anything to correct the problem. We have turned it over to a consumer advocate group in our area, but they have been unable to get a response from the owner of the franchise. We are not happy with the work that Ultimate concrete did and do not recommend them.
