Amazon: “Bought this book because I am starting a home dec business. I read it in 30 minutes. It was absolutely no help. About half of the book gives basic (really basic) small business concepts, that relate to any small business like saying “Thank You” for your order. The balance of the book gives price lists and suggests additional books (also by Mary Roehr) to buy in order to do alterations or custom tailoring. There was nothing about starting a home dec business except that there are additional books to buy that will discuss how to measure and price for home dec.”

I have been a professional seamstress for 38 years. I’ve won many accolades for my performance. I am now doing tailoring an custom designing. Children/s sewing classes etc. Are there bigger opportunities for a person like me that has sewn everything from wedding dresses to quilts, custom patterns, sails for sail boats, leather hand bags, upholstery, draperies and home fashions? I’m so very interested in automated design, unfortunately, I can not afford the software I would like. However, being a former Dell Corporate Sales Exec. for 10 years; I could sure sell the software… Something I’m investigating….
Please respond.
