Selling Cars Without A Lot
What if you could do all the business with only a fraction of the infrastructure cost? It’s a formula that is working beautifully for Robert Rothberg, who grew his revenues from $25 million in 2001 to $40 million last year without substantially increasing overhead.Rothberg and partner Jeff Cohen operate the Philadelphia branch of Millennium Leasing & Sales, a car dealership that also has an office in Florida. Unlike a traditional dealership, Millennium does not operate its own car lot. Rothberg employs no mechanics and he processes little paperwork. Instead he pays rent to the management of O’Neil Nissan in Philadelphia, keeps his cars there and relies on the Nissan staff to handle most of his infrastructure needs.
via Chuck Huckaby, who adds: “They did $40 million in sales from what could have been a home office while renting car storage space from another dealer. Pretty good home based business?”
