Latina Lista:

Perhaps one of the most noteworthy things to know about the nominee for Commerce Secretary, Carlos Gutierrez, is the fact that he doesn’t have a college degree.

Yet, this Cuban refugee who learned English from a hotel bellhop and got his start in the cereal business driving trucks, has a resume that rivals any current Fortune 500 CEO.

Gutierrez shows that if you want something bad enough, all you have to do is keep trying. You don’t give up and you don’t let not having money interfere with your dreams.

If you really want it, you teach yourself everything you want to know about the business you want to pursue by reading, meeting people who are already doing it and asking them questions, read some more and then convince someone to give you a try.
