My mothers father was a founding father of Calabasas Calif. (Anton Weber) My mother passed away and left us the mineral rights to the Cold Creek , Calabasas Highlands area (and beyond…53 total acres..mineral rights). It is hard for me to believe that these are worth nothing (however we don’t know). How do you find out there worth?? Or, is it a waste of time?

Check with http://www.uniroyalties.com, they give free evaluations and purchase Oil & Gas Mineral Rights and Royalties apparently in 26 different states. Meloni, maybe they can tell you what those Minerals are worth?

Aha! Very well written article here. Hopefully this whole fiasco will smooth over quickly, but I doubt it. It’s always a source of amazement to me that folks don’t take time to learn these things before trying to tackle negotiating mineral and oil rights. Don’t get in bed with the big boys until you know what you’re doing. I’ve made that mistake once and believe me it costs you dearly.
