Sun-Sentinel:

It’s an age-old question in business: How do you expand while protecting what you’ve already built?

At this week’s International Franchise Association convention in Hollywood, three South Florida franchisers were among those seeking advice about growing their businesses.

How do you find the best franchisees, asked Jeff Levine, president of Salad Creations in Boca Raton, which has four locations and is about to open a fifth. Institute for Mathematics & Computer Science in Plantation just began franchising two weeks ago and Vice President Brandi Parsell was looking for tips in general. E.J. Martinez, co-owner of Pizza Power, a takeout pizza business on South Beach that is considering franchising, was looking to make contacts in the industry.

That’s the beauty of the franchise system: Owners usually work in different industries so they’re willing to share their success strategies
