Don’t make assumptions about a bank’s lending methods based on their size — it can be deceiving as Ronald Reed found out when he tried to find money to help him grow:

“I assumed a bigger bank would have more money to take chances on [small companies] vs. a smaller bank that I assumed would have to have fewer loans that are risky. But it was the opposite–we had to go to a small bank strictly because they were the only ones willing to listen.”
