It’s About You, Not Others’ Opinions
During the past few weeks I have received e-mails from several readers asking how to maintain the entrepreneurial spirit when so many people around them are throwing negative comments their way. One reader, recovering from his unsuccessful second try at a business, heard plenty of “I told you sos.” Another asked for suggestions on how to handle friends who intrude on your ideas while getting a new business started.Business, like life, can be a challenge. And, surrounding yourself with people who throw negative or non-supportive comments at you and your endeavors can make the challenge more difficult.

That’s very short sighted. My perspective is that most businesses fail because the “formula” of how the business would make money is not working. This should be so clear to all businesses, and all the businesses friends and allies. The reason for criticism from friends or colleagues is more likely to revolve around this key issue.
Don’t keep pursuing a dream that is not going to happen. Thats just going to make matters worse!
My 2 cents worth

When faced with negative comments, if you don’t have enough belief, heart, or faith in your business or idea… maybe it isn’t worth fighting against the current. If it is, then use it as fuel to drive you to work harder so YOU can be the one that says “I told you so.”

For me its not about “how to maintain the entrepreneurial spirit” Its more I can’t help my selves. I agree with Jim when he says that “belief, heart, and faith in your business or idea” is so so so important. When I decide to go along with a business idea I believe in it 110%…
But an important debate from my perspective…. Just a few thought from a Danish Entrepreneur…

The difference in success and failure is dealing with the honest facts regarding your options. Anything is possible as long as we equip ourselves with fundimental truths regarding our intentions. So often it isn’t the apparent things that muck up the works but those unintended consequences that result from our being wishywashy about our true intentions within the process. If you are certain of your facts, of your resources, and purposeful in your practices, it have proven out that you will find a way of getting to where you need to be. However, if you struggle endlessly with the process, purhaps there is some underlying issues that you need to discover and resolve before pressing on.
