Entrepreneur: “Tired of the lack of health insurance options for the self-employed? Check out the Costco’s pilot program to offer insurance to its Executive members in Southern California. According to this article in the Los Angeles Times, the program was created in response to high demand from customers. Hoping to offer insurance alternatives to the self-employed and other members without coverage, Costco plans to offer discounted rates, as they’ll be cutting out the middleman–the insurance broker. The PPO service will be administered through PacifiCare with planned $35 office visit co-pays and prescription coverage and will be available to both individuals and families. Might this health insurance option soon be available at Costco stores nationwide? Only time will tell.”
