The lease on Joanne DeVoe’s Glenville office was running out, and it seemed the right time to find smaller space for her marketing and public relations firm.At the same time, Joanne and her husband, Wes DeVoe, were looking toward retirement and considering the purchase of a recreational vehicle in which to travel.
When they went to the January RV show at the Saratoga City Center, it all came together.
“The first thing Joanne said was, ‘This would make a great office,’ ” Wes said.
In April the couple purchased a 34-foot 2004 Holiday Rambler — which sells for about $100,000 — equipped it with wireless technology, and parked it next to the Mohawk River at Mohawk Valley Marine Inc. in Alplaus, Schenectady County. DeVoe Associates Marketing & Public Relations was home.
