Gambling Away ATM Fees Just like in Loonies in Heinlein’s The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, ATM users in Japan can try to gamble their way out bank fees. According to the BBC, Ogaki Kyoritsu Bank is introducing slot machine games of chance which run while the ATM processes its more mundane transactions:

Get three sevens, and your withdrawal fee is waived; three golds promise a jackpot of 1,000 yen (£5; $9).
