Pretend Network Marketing

MLM Blog:

Network Marketing is not a viable business opportunity for the average person.

Why? Probably two reasons.

  1. The average person is not willing to put forth the effort it takes to be an entrepreneur.
  2. If she (the average person) is willing to put forth the effort, than she is being taught to do the wrong work (by a scam artist), like attending excessive meetings and purchasing weekly CD’s that say the same thing over and over.

All it takes to make money in MLM is sell products and sponsor people.

This misses the point of the meetings and tapes. They provide insight on how to more effectively relate to people and to motivate yourself.

Just like fellow bloggers provide me insight and motivation for my business, the meetings and CDs provide that support to those people.

Many people need this to be able to effectively sell and sponsor new members.

Sometimes, I listen to Qixtar cd’s and attend their open meetings just to feed off of the energy.

Actually, Peter, you’re missing the point of meetings and tapes.

And it may not be your fault. You may only be familiar with “Wave 4″ networking where the meetings and tapes are minimal.

The scam artists of the last generation used meetings and tapes to make their real money… not the MLM opportunity.

Book and tape sales, i.e. “training” made more sales than moving product to end users.

This was much more true in the “Old” days… where the prevailing plan was the “Stair Step Breakaway” comp plan.

That’s why reputable companies won’t sell books and training supplies as commissionable product sales.

Network Marketing is not for the faint at heart. I have been involved with a network marketing company and I did not like it one bit. Too much of a hard sell, and not always all of the truth. Nothing fraudulent but not always the whole story if you catch my drift. I will never be involved with another NM or MLM again, ever. By the way the meetings and the cds are a bunch of hooey. The sole purpose for them is to pump everyone up. To get you to walk through walls and keep on trying. Go to a major annual meeting and they will parade all of the top sales people out and tell you that you can do it too. I say tartar sauce! You are better off trying the Internet and creating you own thing or become an affiliate.

Interesting post Dane. May I make a suggestion, a lot of MLM opportunities are not for the average person for various reasons and there are multiple of reasons people are not successful(and it may not be their fault!) Read e-book http://www.bigmlmlies.com/monica at no cost to you to find out why.
    All the best,
