Small Businesses Still Hit Hardest by Govt
Even with the push toward regulatory flexibility for small businesses at the federal and state levels, the average cost of compliance with federal regulations per employee is still 45% higher when compared to large employers.According to a study released this week by the Office of Advocacy of the U.S. Small Business Administration, firms with fewer than 20 employees annually spend $7,647 per employee to comply with federal regulations, compared with the $5,282 spent by firms with more than 500 employees.

Government analysts consider “small business” to be any business with 500 employees or less.
They’re totally out of touch with anything smaller.
I just read an article by the former CEO of Godfather Pizza.
He said that to the outside world – and theiving politicians – 600 locations seemed like big business. That means deep pockets to loot.
But in reality he felt the need to speak out against the nationalization of health care because he presided over 600 mom and pop businesses who’d be devastated by the legislation.
Perhaps we need to position ourselves as “micro enterprises” so the big heads in DC won’t confuse us with the small businesses with 300 to 500 employees.
On a sorry note the Club for Growth, a pro growth group that tries to get free market politicians elected and seems to be successful, they were attacked by the Federal Election Commission even though their liberal counterparts were not.
Unless voices like Club For Growth (and I’m open to something better if you can point me to it) help leverage our voice, this impact will just continue.
