The concept of The Traveling Vineyard was born in 2002 when The Traveling Vineyard President, Rick Libby, began hosting friends for casual wine tastings in the comfort of his home. A novice wine drinker, Rick realized that many of the people expressed interest in “buying after tryingâ€?. Thus the mission of The Traveling Vineyard was born; bring people together to sample and learn about wine in a relaxed atmosphere so they can develop a comfort level with the wine selection process. The first official Traveling Vineyard home wine tasting event in April 2002 was a runaway success. Consumers loved the low-pressure, yet festive atmosphere that came with a Traveling Vineyard wine tasting event.

The Traveling Vineyard’s in-home wine tasting events are hosted by Independent Wine Consultants. Each Consultant receives full training and support from The Traveling Vineyard staff, including ongoing education on individual wines, the differences in red and white varietals, and food and wine pairing.
