This could be the lamest thing state government could do. I can see if enough Ebayers complain, Ebay throw their lawyers into the mix. An I’m sure Ebay has really good lawyers.

You would think that states would have at least some shame when they scam people. But this proves that when it comes to finding innovative ways to pick pockets, that some states are little better than those who work the streets doing the same thing.

In TN the state auctioneers are lobbying for the Ebay Assistants to be licensed like they are.
It’s completely idiotic, but part of the trade union mentality that pervades American business… we can’t compete on price, service, or professionalism, so let’s force them out of business with regulation.
Usually the only thing “protected” is the income of the professionals who have fewer upstart competitors to fend off. I doubt if the public is served well in many cases.
Even medical licensing doesn’t prevent malpractice.
