I Believe in Network Marketing

I believe in some basic concepts behind Network Marketing:

1. The opportunity to own and operate your own business with very little start up costs.

2. The opportunity to help others start their own business.

3. The opportunity to build a business in your spare time outside of your regular job or traditional business.

Most entrepreneurs would agree that these are good concepts. Sadly, I don’t see many MLM companies in the market today that believe in the same basic concepts. Companies and systems within companies may pay the concepts lip service, but for the most part the individual associate is left to the vultures.

One of my goals is to make a positive change in the MLM/Network Marketing industry. I believe people are tired of being mislead and they are tired of the empty promises of riches through MLM. If we, (Network Marketers), are to move our industry out of resistance and into acceptance, we must change our behavior.

As my friend, Andrew Mclellan recently wrote, “Countless Network Marketers have been burnt by the flames of the red personalities, and they’re ready to do MLM the way it should be done – with honesty and integrity.”

  • I have personally made it my goal to avoid network marketing and to make sure any of my friends avoid network marketing. The problem with network marketing is that inherently, network marketers must use their friends and family for business. It turns everyone into a prospect.

The concept behind network marketing is pretty good, but its execution leaves a lot to be desired.

  • I agree with the last comment. One of the biggest issues with Network Marketing is that many Network Marketers run around and try to sell anyone that has a pulse.

I am an advocate of Solution Marketing, whereas Network Marketers look at their product or business as a solution. If the Networker has a product or business that solves a problem for another, then they should discuss it with them.

No more harassing friends and relatives.

  • I know of a business that provides solutions through helping people. The reps get paid for helping people and the clients return they’re excitment by providing the reps with 10 warm market referrels. This company is also a wholly owned subsidiary of the largest company (maybe second now) in the world. I’ve been involved for six or so months and I’ve come on board full time.

  • I was under the impression the term ‘network marketing’ was supposed to elevate the old school ‘MLM’ methodology into a more relational approach, from the transactional approach. Transactional meaning, ‘hit em up, sell to em, collect and run’. Relational refers to a more relationship oriented way of doing business. I am not a fan of the old school MLM, but I applaud those few Network Marketing companies that rise above the rubbish and try to become that relational model — FR.

  • Network marketing is all about building relationships and helping people. it is not a numbers game, as some companies would insist, it is a people game.

If you have a good opportunity, or product, why would you not tell your family and friends about it?

Having siad that, i have a downline of something in the region of 250, and not one of my family members in there! 1 friend though!

The rest has come from talking to people, finding out what THEY need, and then seeing if we have a match. if so, great, if not, no problem.

I never CLOSE my prospects. If they are really interested, the close themselves!

  • I agree. The concept is good. The execution is flawed.
