eBay CEO, Whitman Visits India

NDTV:

The latest CEO to visit India is Meg Whitman, the head of eBay, the world’s biggest auction site. India is becoming an increasingly important market for eBay, especially as its growth on home ground has slowed down.

“Our business here is quite small and quite nascent, but we think that over the next five to ten years, this could be a very big market for us,” said Whitman.

eBay has been in India since 2004 when it acquired Baazee. Now called eBay India, it has two million registered users. But that’s just a fraction of its worldwide community of 181 million users.
