USA Today:

Internet search giant Google ushered in the biggest revolution in advertising since the dawn of television when it popularized online ads that run near Web search results. For the first time, advertisers had to pay only if someone viewed an ad.

Now, Google wants to bring its targeted-advertising system to old media: radio, magazines and newspapers, even TV eventually.

“When I watch TV today, it seems that all sports fans are only interested in beer,” Google CEO Eric Schmidt told USA TODAY. “We think there’s a better way.”
