Ebay Helper – iSold it
Random antiques, sports equipment, dirty magazines – you name it and Jacob Plaunt, 20, of East Lansing, could probably help you sell it. Well, not the dirty magazines.
As assistant manager of iSOLD It, he’s helped customers sell pretty much anything and everything. If you’ve seen “The 40-Year-Old Virgin” then you get the concept. Basically if your item has a resale value of at least $30, the store will try to sell it for you online. They take a portion of the profits if it sells – you’ll get a check in the mail for the rest – but they do the dirty work like pricing research, taking photos, writing descriptions, answering buyers’ questions, packaging and shipping.
Plaunt, whose father co-owns the store, sat down with us to talk selling and buying strategies, what items have raked in the big bucks and what high-demand items you might have sitting around your house.
