As someone who lives in a rural area (South Central TN) WiFi is already here though not “everywhere”.
We have it in some pretty strange places however… for instance one local gas/convenience store/eat in store.
Though I don’t think it’s wi-fi, at least 2 of local motels have high speed internet.
In the next town over, a donut shop has wi-fi… I’m not sure if it’s helping, they’re only open from 5 AM to Noon.
One company seems to have gotten out in front of this effort in their marketing. It remains to be seen if they’re the one who gets rich off it or the lone scout who gets the arrows in the back.
