Chevrolet: Bioperformance Gas Pill May Void Warranty

Chevrolet customer relations manager says Bioperformance Gas Pill product may void car warranty.

Jennifer Vera, customer relations manager, said, in part:

“Chevrolet does not recommend … adding additives such as the BioPerformance fuel pill after (a vehicle) has left the assembly plant.

“Changes may adversely affect the vehicle and possibly result in operational problems. This could result in the voiding of specific items covered under the … warranty.

    I have used the gas pill. Powder first and now the actual pill. I have a 98 Suburban. The fuel pump is making an awful noise now. Didn’t with the powder, but is with the pill. The fuel pump is only 11 months old. I put it in myself last June. I also have a friend who had the same experience with the pill. I will not ever use it again and I hope that I can restore my fuel pump without spending the $500 dollars to replace it.

    I spoke with the Chevrolet Service Department in Pensacola, FL today on this issue. They told me its total BULL.

    A fuel additive will not void any warranty on any Chevy vehicle. He also told me that they put fuel additives in all the time to help performance and mileage. Don’t believe everything you read on the internet. Find out the truth for yourself.

    I’ve been using “the pill” for five tanksfull now in my 99 caravan 4cyl. i went from 17mpg to 23. 300 milies per tank to almost 400. similar results in another caravan. a 6cyl, about a97 or 98.. He went from 17 to 24-25. My wifes 2004 kia has yet to show a difference but i will say that all of the vehicles DO run much more smoothly. I’m saving about $13.00 per tank so I will keep on using it.

    I did a very controlled mileage test on 5/14/06 on a 2003 Toyota Avalon using the Bio Performance gas pill. Here are the results. I filled the tank, without the gas pill and drove 102.5 miles up I-75 in Ohio. I cruised it at 69-70 mph all the way up and back, being careful how I accelerated and decelerated off of the interstate. I went back to the gas station, added the gas pill, and took another “lap” just like the first one. Same speed, same accel/decel on and off, and went straight back to the gas station after the second lap. Mileage went from 27.91 to 30.22 mpg, even though I was told that I should wait a few hours before testing with the pill to allow it to completely break down in the tank. It was an 8-1/2% improvement.
    The product works. It wasn’t 20-25%, but the product works. The pill was the only variable in the test. I believe that all the negative crap on the internet about this product is coming either from people who don’t know how to do a mileage test, or are selling a competitor’s product, or are being paid off by an oil company to slam a good and environmentally responsible product!

    I’m a sceptic. So let me tell you how I approached Bio Performance. A friend told me about this stuff and I knew it was to good to be true but said I’d give it a try. First I figured you nee a baseline so before any of that stuff went in my van I drove between 8 and 9 hundred miles. My best mileage at fillup was 12.6 mpg. First tank with the BP mileage was below that at 11.8. But I persisted. They said it could take a while. That was the last time I saw my mpg in the 11′s or 12′s. Now I consitantly hit 15.5 and as high as 16.5 mpg. It took me over a month to convince myself that this stuff worked. So what is going on here? I told my wife that these guys would be shot down cause it seems you can’t go up against the big money.

    I finally did put in an order and was planning to have my friends try it. Now I just hope my order shows up and none of it will be for sale. At the savings I have seen I figure that my 500 dollar investment will return me between 2 and 3 thousand dollars.
    You know I would have swallowed this whole media and legal “expert” story if I hadn’t been a sceptic and checked it out myself.

    I am baffled by the results of the U of Central Florida’s “test.” This pill works on my car and a high percentage of those I know who have tried it.
    Do you mean to tell me that 50,000 plus distributors spent $500 on this product and are telling everyone about its wonderful results in spite of it being a total fraud?
    If my car didn’t run to well and with such gas savings, there is no way I (or in my opinion, hardly anyone) would share this good news with others, on such a grand scale!(over 50,000 in 5 months.) Guess we’re all crooks and liars, who incidentally are getting around going more miles on less money, and saving the air at the same time. This product works, and every testimonial is notarized, unlike your “study.” Was it funded by Exxon?
    Recent actions suggest even greater government complicity in our fuel ‘crisis.’ Bioperformance WORKS. That’s the bottom line.

    I doubt the powder works.

    Gas prices are getting higher. Threatening to go to ridiculous levels. Big oil profits.

    As for the pills I started with a big initial dose as recommended. Drove it the car as recommended. Then normal dosage for months. Gas mileage stayed the same.

    MLM sucks. Why? Colloidial minerals came out at 40 bucks a bottle. The company was hammered for having no minerals in the stuff. When they put minerals in the product tasted like crap.

    Then minerals went mainstream and showed up in grocery stores etc. and they were priced how much? about 40 bucks a bottle. MLM inflates prices to pay commissions and the other markets follow. This is bad.

    The gas pills taste terrible. Also pain and blood lots of blood! (I’m Kidding)
