Peachtree City, GA – Go ahead, call Peachtree City resident Tom Langley a geek. He won’t mind. In fact, he’ll probably give you a proud smile. That’s because he just launched the first Geeks On Call franchise in the area. As the company’s name implies, Langley is a mobile computer geek who delivers a wide range of computer services to homes and businesses throughout Peachtree City and its neighboring cities. And yes, he also has a very geeky car: the signature blue PT Cruiser driven by all Geeks On Call technicians in America.
Langley holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington. In addition, he has earned several prestigious computer credentials, including an MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional), CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), a Novell certification, and a CompTIA A+.
Langley began his high-tech career as a computer-design engineer, a position he held for over 12 years. With substantial experience in hand, he then started his own company, which produced microprocessor-control modules. A few years later he rejoined the corporate world as a technical-support engineer for a computer firm, but before long the urge to be his own boss re-emerged and he founded a computer-consulting business. After switching tracks a couple of years later, Langley enjoyed a five-year stay with an information-technology company that designed and serviced computer networks.
