Entrepreneurs’ Viewpoint Blog:
Yesterday on the BBC news website there was an article about a UK-US study that has found our genes “are crucial in determining whether we are entrepreneurial and likely to become self-employed.” When looking at sets of identical and fraternal twins the study found that the siblings in the identical sets were more likely to be similar in their propensity to become entrepreneurs than those in the fraternal sets. The study was conducted by the the Twin Research Unit based at St Thomas Hospital in London. Although I couldn’t find any links directly to the research, the article had related links to the Tanaka School of Business of Imperial College and the Weatherhead School of Business, Case Western Reserve University. There was also a similar article in Crain’s Cleveland Business back in April.
