eBay Has 3 of 5 Best Internet Brands
EBay chief executive Meg Whitman outlined her latest vision for eBay’s future this morning to the 75 or so people who showed up at the glitzy Wynn casino for the company’s 11-minute shareholder meeting.
After routinely electing eBay’s board of directors, ratifying the selection of an accounting firm and passing an amendment to the company’ equity incentive plan, the formal meeting was quickly adjourned to the more interesting presentation from Whitman.
“The power of 3″ is the theme of eBay’s latest vision, which means the San Jose, Calif.-based firm is trying to find ways to integrate and cross-promote its three main Internet brands–eBay in ecommerce, PayPal in payments and Skype in communications.
“We want to build synergies. . .” Whitman said, ” so that one plus one plus one equals a lot more than three.”
“I think we have three out of five of the best brands on the Internet today,” she said
