eBay Yahoo Google & Now MSN Who’s Left
There’s a tag team match under way in the world of online ads, and it could be about to get rough.
On one side is Internet auctioneer eBay (EBAY) and the Web portal Yahoo, (YHOO) which joined forces last month to share Internet ads and promote eBay’s online payment system. On the other: search giant Google (GOOG) and its ally AOL, owned by Time Warner. (TWX)
Both sides have legions of Internet visitors and control wide swaths of e-commerce and advertising. But Google, with the Internet’s No. 1 search engine, is seen as the industry’s heavyweight.
