eBay Raises Fees Again
On the same day that eBay announced a 14% decline in quarterly revenue, eBay North America President, Bill Cobb announced an increase in sellers fees.
It’s official. eBay has lost their freakin’ mind.
With eBay traffic down by 10 Million visitors a day, how in the world can they justify raising sellers fees on Store items?
More people are listing items in their stores because they are no longer getting a decent sell-through rate in auctions. For many, the eBay store is a last resort before calling it quits on the eBay model.
Bill Cobb has the guts to call this latest fee raise, “Resetting the Balance of the eBay Marketplace“.
It’s really almost unbelievable.

The fall of Ebay=the rise of Craigslist. Using ebay is the equivalent of a transactional tax. Why would I ever want to pay 3-10% of my sale to someone I will never meet and have to trust, giving a cut to a middleman whose technology is slow and outdated, when I could post it on craigslist for free?
