The thing to remember then is that sometimes, the old adage about needing to spend money to make money is true.Sure, you can go the Wal-Mart route and pay the least and offer the least amount of benefits and sell stuff cheaper. That is a valid business model. But if your model stresses customer loyalty and quality, then being the cheapest and spending the least should not be your paramount concern.

Actually (and sadly) Wal*Mart is one of the better employers for jobs in the lower end of the pay scale. They offer significant benefits (compared with many), an upward mobility path … a large percentage of Wal*Mart managerial and supervisory personnel are former baseline hourly employees, and they have a stock purchase/retirement savings option so that even low-pay employees have a way to share in some of the huge profits.
Wal*Mart is the only US company I am aware of also who is known in China for their official refusal to take any bribes or gifts .. even free dinners, and who monitors the factories of their suppliers to enforce wage and hour regulations. Many US companies go to China for merchandise strictly because the Chinese government virtually allows slavery and the buyers don’t care as long as the price is right.
Anyway, hate to look as if I’m a defender of Wal*Mart, but small businesses looking to set up compensation plans ought to at least review what Wal*Mart provides. All budgets are limited and all things are relative,

Yeah..Walmart is not the “evil doer” some try to make them out as.
The Republicans on the other hand….

spending money for business is important, you cant just put business without your invesment.it is not that easy, if you want to make money,spend for it and after a month you get your invesment back plus your interist.
