All eBay Sellers in UK & US Mad Over Fees

eBay sellers in Australia and the UK were as unhappy as those in North America over eBay hikes in Store fees. And while eBay is charging sellers higher fees for Store listings, they are at the same time decreasing Store listings visibility to potential buyers by rolling back Stores in Search effective August 1. eBay had rolled back Stores in Search on the U.S. site in March (http://www.auctionbytes.com/cab/abn/y06/m03/i29/s01).

 

 

An Australian seller said of Wednesday’s announcements, “The rationale for the hikes does not make sense. They are raising fees because they flooded the site by displaying all store listings along side auction listings. They are now removing the store listings from the basic display – but upping the fees for store listings! …. Surely the consequences of this should have been obvious….”
