30 Second/One Question Interview with Ty Tribble

My next participant in the 30 Second/One Question Interview series is Ty Tribble. I asked:

One man’s trash, is another man’s treasure. What product or service have you imagined would be a good business opportunity, but you’ve rejected because it’s too off the wall?

Ty’s response:

About 10 years ago, I was having lunch with a musician friend of mine and I thought of an idea to connect musicians over the Internet for band practice and jam sesions.

My friend said, “It’ll never work”. So I dropped the idea completely and never gave it any additional reaserch or thought, until I read an article about ejamming.

I believe the lesson here is to get multiple opinions on an idea before you write it off as wacky.
