Airport Shipping Service
Some people were waiting in line at the airport awaiting the security check. One fellow said he didn’t want to give up his Swiss Army knife and wished he could mail it to himself.
That got me thinking. Why not offer a service at the airport for travelers with ‘banned’ items that they could ship back to themselves?
You can get Priority Mail flat rate envelopes free from the Post Office and postage is $4.05 regardless of weight or destination. You can mail anything you can stuff inside.
Grab some of these and offer your service near the security checkout. You could charge from $5 to $10 plus the postage. And you wouldn’t need to make a trip to the Post Office. You could arrange for pickup at no extra charge using online carrier pickup.

I agree that this would be a big success. A company like Pack-n-Ship could offer this service. I was just talking to a woman who had to leave a $35 candle she had purchased at the airport for them to just throw out because she didn’t realize (nor did I) that candles were banned from flights. I was coming online to see if anyone else had thought of this idea before…apparently they have. I think a shipping company would make a killing offering this service.
