Springwise:

If you’re a budding restaurateur, here’s an idea that could make you just as famous.

Ghetto Gourmet is a ‘wandering supper club for lovers of fine cookin’, conversation and art set in uniquely comfortable environments’.

The pop-up restaurant started out as an experiment, in a basement apartment in Oakland, California, by two brothers, Joe the chef and Jeremy the poet. Invited guests pay $40 per person for the experience, which includes a four course meal, live music, stand-up comedy, photography and other forms of art and entertainment. Due to license issues, you’re asked to supply your own alcoholic beverage. Ghetto Gourmet’s customers sign up for email alerts of when and where the next dinner will be held.

No physical restaurant building, no rental overheads, no issues - just a website and a loyal following of adventure eaters.
