I’m getting to the point in business where I need to start consulting a lawyer on a few basic things. Drawing up contracts, basic legal questions, etc. What should I look for in a lawyer? What’s the best way to start finding one?
Other than referrals from friends and other entrepreneurial acquaintances, what’s the best way you’ve discovered to find a lawyer?

Tim,
Are you paying attention at BNI? Do you have 3-5 resources that you trust absolutely? If I want to ask about a service that I know nothing about, I call Marshall, Steve, Dave, Matt and Paul. I ask, “You know anybody who’s any good at this?” If they don’t know anybody, they’ll ask their 3-5 resources and get back to me. Guaranteed, I’ll get introduced to somebody who knows their stuff and will take care of me. Incidentally, Tim, you can consider me a resource and if you call me, I’m sure that my firm will know someone in your area.
Also, the way I start any purchase process is, “So, what kind of questions should I be asking?” (The rest of the process is too long to type. Call me. I’ll talk you through it.)

I use prepaid legal for the really basic stuff. At $18 a month, they provide a really good service. You get to talk on the phone with an attorney whenever you have a legal question, get free document review, a free will, and lots of other stuff that makes it a real bargain–if you use the service. They make their money on all the people who pay every month but never use it.
I might not use them for a complicated matter needing a specialist, and they tend to be very conservative in their advice, but for generic legal questions, you can’t beat the price and they get the job done. They’re also very courteous and professional.

A few of my friends suggested that I should join an online syndicate like http://www.lotto2006.co.uk?business. Do any of you have experience of joining such a syndicate. I am planning to join it. Just thought of getting some tips before doing so. All advice from you pros will be highly appreciated ï?Š
Thanks Steve

A Syndicate is a group of people, who combine their efforts to improve their chances of winning and share the same lottery numbers. These numbers are entered in each Lotto Game draw, which takes place twice a week – Wednesdays and Saturdays at 8.00pm GMT (Greenwich Mean Time).
One such syndicate is http://www.lotto2006.co.uk?business-opportunities and there are many others. So go ahead and join one of them, the sooner you join, the sooner you’ll be playing in the richest tax free, lump sum lottery in the world using the powerful e-Lottery system. I have just joined and am all smiles.ï?Š
Thanks Ruby
