An inventor is launching a Robert Burns board game he dreamed up during a nightmare. Malcolm McArdle’s creation, The Bard Game, tests players’ knowledge of Scotland’s national poet.
But the project was almost scrapped after the dad-of-one could not find a backer. However, a Chinese firm called SNP came to the rescue and it was officially launched at the weekend
Malcolm, 47, said: “It has been nearly 18 months of hard work and rejection, but when SNP offered to make the game, I knew it was fate.”
He explained how the idea came to him during a restless night while having problems with a property venture.
“I was dreaming that the whole thing was crumbling and then my brother, who died the year before, appeared in it and said, ‘Don’t worry, there is always The Bard Game.’“I got up right away at 2am and went on to the internet to see if any such game existed - it didn’t but, by 6am, I had designed one.” McArdle said.

If the inventor of this game thinks that Burns was English, he’s not done his research.
Burns was SCOTTISH.
