Toppers by Tarta, self-sticking, pop-up gift decorations, have recently received a patent. The unique gift wrap invention created by Marta Petter received a 2006 Best New Product Award at the National Stationery Show in New York City.

Toppers by Tarta attach to gift wrap, gift boxes and gift bags and travel flat but pop-up when it’s time for gift giving. Toppers are intricate paper sculptures that include a space for messages and are available in 25 different designs.

Consumers in focus groups said Toppers by Tarta looked “impressive and “simple to use. They also enjoyed the fact that it could stay flat until they needed it to pop-up.

Women expected them to cost “so much more. Men said “finally a way to wrap a gift and impress my girlfriend (wife).
