Biz Idea: Create Your Own Gift Card
Gift cards are more popular than ever. According to the National Retail Federation, Americans will spend $24.8 billion on gift cards this holiday season, a $6 billion increase over last year and an all-time high.
If you offer a product or service, you can create your own gift cards. Offer a low cost promotional item or if a service, some of your time.
Using Microsoft Paint or other image creation software, create a 3.5-inch by 2.5-inch “card”. If you have a logo, include it on the card. Because of the size you will not be able to include a lot of text. (See example above)
Then copy the image and paste into Microsoft Wordpad or Word, you should be able to get 8 to 10 cards on the page. Then print a hundred or two in color on index card stock.
Cut out the individual cards and include them in your customer Christmas card mailings. Also take a stack with you to give out at holiday parties and gatherings.
