Tree Shoppers Go To Web

MetroWest Daily News:

Holiday shoppers are lighting up the Internet in hopes of chopping the price down for Christmas trees. Tree dealers welcome the comparison shopping, saying it’s helping business.

PickYourOwnChristmasTree.org, Christmas-trees.org and Christmas-Tree.com are among the sites driving customers to call the farm.

The news comes just in time for consumers who face increased prices for trees this year. Growers blame higher costs for fuel, fertilizer and taxes.

The National Christmas Tree Association expects 27 percent of U.S. households to buy a real Christmas tree this year, totaling about 31 million trees.
