Known as “MalaysianKitchen”, the restaurant is one of the promoted businesses under the “JomMalaysia” programme, a network of franchises offering convenient halal fast food restaurant services outside the country.
This first of its kind, the restaurant in Japan is located at the commercial district of Daikanyama.
“The operator of the outlet would be N.U.R Japan Co. Ltd which is owned by Rosdi Ahmad, a Malaysian entrepreneur who jointly owns another restaurant, “MalayChan” in Shibuya-Ku,” PNS said in a statement here Thursday.
Financed by PNSF, the RM2 million restaurant offers 26 varieties of Malaysian food while all the workers in the restaurant are Japanese citizens trained by Malaysian chefs.
PNS said the “MalaysianKitchen” was established to also promote Malaysia as a tourist attraction centre via its offering of various Malaysian dishes.
It also expects to introduce Malaysian dishes using the best ingredients outside the country and consequently raise the brandname of Malaysian food products overseas.
