Web Site Allows Santa Seekers To Make Phone Calls
Long gone are the days when little boys and girls had to mail letters to the North Pole to tell Santa their holiday wishes. Jolly old St. Nick has gone high-tech.
A number of Web sites are helping Santa stay connected with his young followers through blogs, e-mail alerts and GPS sleigh tracking.
Some sites, such as SantaSpeaking.com, are even offering parents a chance to arrange phone calls and prerecorded messages for their children from the legend himself … well, more like professionally trained actors with good intentions. Remember, this is his busy time of year.
Anne Gaskell says she created the Santa Speaking site two years ago as a way of keeping Santa’s true spirit alive. She says that the calls from the man in red make him more believable to young children.
The phone calls provide a different type of treasured memory that can be relived over and over. “With digital cameras, parents have so many photos of their children. I thought, wouldn’t it be great for them to have a recording of what they actually spoke with Santa about.”
