Local Applebee's Franchise Group Raises Money For Make-A-Wish Foundation

Greenville:

Apple-J, an Applebee’s franchise headquartered in Greenville, raised $110,000 to benefit local chapters of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Thirty-two Applebee’s restaurants in the Carolinas and Georgia worked together to host a number of fundraising events in 2006 including a golf tournament, oyster roast and concert, and a classic car show. All of the money raised will be used to grant wishes for children in local neighborhoods.

“The teamwork of our employees and generosity of our customers made this the most successful Make-A-Wish fundraiser in the history of our company,â€? said Art Everson, President and CEO of Apple-J.

Russell Smith, President of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Carolinas said “Apple-J is the single, largest contributor to our Make-A-Wish chapter. This donation will help sick children here in our neighborhoods and will hopefully start their road to recovery.â€?

Apple-J is a franchisee of Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar and is located in Greenville. The company currently operates 32 restaurants in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia, and employs over 2,000 people. Since 2002, Apple-J has raised $335,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
