Americans have more trust in small business than they do in the Supreme Court, the White House, or any other public institution, according to a Harris Interactive survey released this week.

Out of more than 1,000 adults surveyed nationwide in February, 54 percent expressed a great deal of confidence in small business, compared to 46 percent for the military, 27 percent for the supreme court, 22 percent for the White House, and just 10 percent for Congress.

When combined with those who expressed at least some degree of confidence, small business again topped the list with at 96 percent, the survey found.
