Newton Daily News:

Patti Peery was laid off by Maytag. So she entered her local community college, completed their management
program and started her own business.

Peery’s new business, Fireside Camper Rental, LLC, is one-of-a-kind in central Iowa. Peery rents campers to people who would not otherwise be able to go camping.

Peery, her husband and her son, haul the campers to the customer-reserved campsites and prepare them for the client. They back the camper into the site, level it, fill it with water, set up the awning and hook up the electricity to have the camper ready when the customer arrives. The business services campers staying within a 20-mile radius of Monroe.

Her business was so successful last summer that she is expanding for the 2007 season.
