Class Action Lawsuit Filed Against eBay
Michael Malone filed an antitrust class-action lawsuit against eBay this week under the Sherman Act, alleging eBay “utilizes its nationwide monopoly of the on-line auction market to monopolize the available forms of payment that sellers can use on eBay.” eBay controls which payment methods sellers may advertise in their listings, and this year, it eliminated buyer-protection for non-PayPal transactions. eBay owns the PayPal payment service. The lawsuit alleges that “Sellers who would otherwise accept only money transfers must also accept Payment Card transactions.” Some sellers have expressed the desire to use PayPal with the ability to reject PayPal payments funded by credit cards, which they may not do under eBay’s current policy.

I listed items that we bought from designer warehouse. Out of 800 listings, only ABOUT 20 were of that designer. I listed the items as is. According to ebay, I was in violation. They pulled my listing, and suspended my account. I contacted regarding this issue, and they told me they wrote several emails regarding this policy which is False. And just because i had certain amounts of listings, (20) they had to suspend my account. I lost 7 days of Christmas sale. I have 5 disputes opened, even though I sent out the items, and 15 transaction for over $400 cannot be completed, just because ebay blocked my account. I called ebay, the supervisor kept telling me how sorry she is, but Its their rules. She also said hey its only for 7 days, we do have suspensions for 30 days.
I want to sue Ebay.
