Pajama Mamas Celebrate Working At Home
Leslie Truex, aka The Pajama Mama has nothing against traditional jobs. What she hates is getting up early, leaving her warm bed, changing out of her comfortable pajamas, and then forcing her kids to do the same so she can get to a job. She found the answer to her dilemma by working at home. Today she still has to roll out of bed to get her kids to school, but she gets to stay in her comfortable pajamas as she sips home brewed Starbucks coffee and works from her home office. Ah, the life of a Pajama mama!
The week of May 6-13, 2007 is National Work-At-Home Mom week, in which over 3 million work-at-home moms (known as WAHMs) like Truex celebrate their lives as mothers and entrepreneurs. “Working at home really is as close to ‘having it all’ that mothers can get,” reports Truex. “By working at home I’m able satisfy my maternal instinct to be with my kids and still contribute to the family income as well as have something to give me sense of accomplishment.”
To celebrate National Work-At-Home Week and to help other moms who’d like to work-at-home, Truex will be hosting a week long celebration at which moms can get a free report, “WAHM Plan-It: A Guide to Becoming a Work-At-Home Mom”, participate in a nation-wide teleconference to ask Truex their most burning work-at-home questions, as well as pick up other tools and resources to join the WAHM revolution.
