Work At Home Moms Connect For Mothers Day
For Mother’s day this year, Two WAHMS have teamed up to sponsor a “Mama Said There’d be Days like This” essay writing contest. Baby boomer author Beverly Mahone of North Carolina and Internet Radio Host Rebecca White of Ohio decided to join forces after recognizing they were doing the same thing individually. Mahone says, “When Rebecca announced she was hosting a Mother’s Day contest on one of the sites where we network together, I contacted her and suggested we join forces. It just made sense for us to pool our resources together and broaden our base.” And broaden their base they did. When the two combined their prize list, they ended up with over $1000, which will be distributed among the five finalists. They were even able to enlist the services of two-time super bowl champion Dwight Hicks (San Francisco 49ers), who will judge the essays.
White says, “Teaming up together was a great idea. It not only gives us more exposure with each others networking peers, it also allows us to further own agendas; which is to help others heal.” White is known online for her openness and willingness to discuss her constant battles with depression on her Heal Yourself Talk Radio program. Beverly Mahone shares her personal journey through menopause and other baby boomer related issues in her book, “Whatever! A Baby Boomer’s Journey Into Middle Age.”

I personally believe that my mother, Sherry Campbell, would be best suited for the best mother award. Ever since I was born my mother has always been there for my sister and me. In our younger childhood our father left but my mother stayed strong and was there for us every step of the way. She was not only a single mother but she was also a student at the University of Brock. She was in school to be a councilor, she had to study hard but her late hours didn’t effect her affection towards us. We always came first and would tell her every little secret. Her advice was always right and she always fixed my problems. She would do her school work late at night for she didn’t miss a minute with us; I know she would do ANYTHING just for our well being. Once she graduated she worked to support us, she always wanted us to have the best. Even now she works two jobs but finds the time to be with me. I can tell her anything in the world and always rely on her, she has never let me down and I know she never will. She is my mother, role model, coach, teacher, supporter and the list goes on. I don’t know how I could live my life if it wasn’t for her; I can honestly say I would not change one thing about her. My mother doesn’t just have this effect on me but 100’s of people in her work place. She changes peoples lives for the best and is so caring. Many people would love her as a mom but only I am the lucky one who gets her!. I could write so much more about her but this can only be a certain amount of words. I love my mom so much, I would do anything to make her happy, mom I love you so much and thank you for everything.
