Inventor Locks Up Top Prize On Oprah

Daily Herald:

Aneela Rajusth’s “Lock ’n Bake baking pan prevailed over more than 6,000 entries and seven other finalists in “Oprah’s Search for the Next Big Idea.

The studio audience voted electronically for their favorite among the eight finalists. Audience members were asked to consider how creative or unique each product was, how well the inventors presented them and how well it could be expected to sell.

Rajusth’s demonstrated the fold-down sides of her baking pan for easy removal of such foods as lasagna and cake.

By winning, the 30-year-old Rajusth now gets the chance to sell her product live on the QVC shopping network this fall. In the meantime, QVC will put her in touch with a manufacturer and help her prepare an on-air promo.

“It would just be a dream come true for my family, my friends, for everyone, Rajusth said.
