Working With Mom
Every day is Mother’s Day at Mediterranean Delights. When Joan Day purchased the vegetarian food production company, her daughter Nicole was looking for a change.
At the time, Nicole a was working as an economic analyst and as Joan was getting ready to embark on a new career of her own she asked her daughter if she wanted to come along.
Nine years, and thousands of pounds of hummus later, Joan and Nicole are living proof that the special bond between mother and child can be a cornerstone for a successful business plan.
“It took a little while for us to redefine our roles; to go from being a mother and daughter to business partners,” Joan said this week, siting in the company’s office in the Warner Center in Saxtons River. “But we figured it out, and it’s made us stronger.”
