Embellishing Her World With Discarded Treasures
Paige Cox is the keeper of all things discarded and overlooked.
Beads, buttons and fabrics find their way to her Greensboro studio where they’re transformed into new creations.
Stained sweaters become wrist cuffs decorated with vintage lace and dyed velvet.
Yards of wool morph into felt dolls, decorations and the trim on a vintage hat.
Cox embellishes her world, then shares her vision courtesy of LuLugroove, her at-home art company.
LuLugroove started shortly after Cox’s daughter, Riley, was born. The new mom fell into familiar habits of playing with fibers and created a few dolls for craft shows.
Pretty soon she was trucking in dyed wool from Maine, picking up felting needles and nurturing a following in stores and galleries across the state, and now, the country.
