Monica Smiley Named to Greater Raleigh NAWBO Expert Panel
Monica Smiley, editor and publisher of Enterprising Women, has been named to the Greater Raleigh National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) expert panel. As a part of the “What Women Business Owners Want: A Call to Action” event, the expert panel will discuss important issues including healthcare, government procurement and taxation.
“I am honored to participate in NAWBO’s expert panel,” said Smiley. “This event is a great opportunity for me to offer my expertise in some of the most important issues women business owners face everyday.”
Monica Smiley is editor and publisher of Enterprising Women, a national magazine that is considered the voice of entrepreneurial women. She also serves as chief executive officer of Enterprising Women Inc., the magazine’s parent publishing company.

The Raleigh Business & Technology Center is accepting applications for the 2008 Pacesetter Program. The purpose of Pacesetters Program is to expand the “community” of dedicated and financially viable certified MBE’s, WBE’s and DBE’s. The program is designed for highly motivated active business owners. It goal is to support future business expansion and job creation. The focus of the curriculum is business development, ethical business leadership, and profitability. Additionally, the program will leverage collaborative skills, resources, and business expertise to benefit the entire community.
Pacesetters sponsored by the Southeast Raleigh Assembly and funded by the City of Raleigh, the North Carolina Department of Transportation, the Capital Area Workforce Development Board and others.
