Minorities Surpass 100 Million
It’s always good to know the demographic you’re marketing to.
The U.S. Census Bureau announced that the nation’s minority population has surpassed the 100 million mark. The total is now 100.7 million, compared to 98.3 million last year. According to Census Bureau Director Louis Kincannon, nearly one in three U.S. residents is a minority.
Of minority groups, Hispanics remain the largest at 44.3 million and are also the fastest-growing minority group. The District of Columbia and four states are “majority-minority,” including Hawaii, New Mexico, California and Texas.
