Nailing Success With 3-in-1 Business

The Courier News:

The modest house-turned-business center not only contains a sought-after school that draws students from miles around, it also offers bargain nail services, and even children’s parties.

With a cool business head that she says she got from her mother, Cindy Heidemann knows an untapped market when she sees one. But the Lake in the Hills resident takes it all in stride, adding that fate brought it all together.

Heidemann’s first venture began back in 1998 as the home-based business Sugar & Spice Party Center. With a team of hair and makeup experts in tow, Heidemann would attend parties and provide glamour makeover sessions for guests.
As the word spread about the service, so did the need for a freestanding structure. The move to the Miller Road address soon proved fruitful for the party center, so Heidemann decided to add a certified nail school in 2005.

“I got my license to teach, and also my license to operate a state school,” Heidemann said.

The glamour facility on the premises for parties, or just for a mom-and-daughter day, rounds out the day of beauty to be had.
